| | BELIEVE IN ARCHITECTURE
This is what I came up with in my first attempt using Photoshop. This was produced by using only the basic tools as i am still not familiar with the software. I tried to enlarge it in Xanga but it appeared blur. 'Believe in Architecture' - I came across this phrase during a class last week. It was mentioned by my lecturer. I agreed with what he said. "If you really want to excel in architecture, you have to believe in it, and have passion in it." To believe is to have faith in. I treat architecture as if a religion. Religions are usually mythical and spiritual. Therefore, I deliberately created a mythical, mysterious, soulful and dark background, in
order to compromise with the theme 'Believe in Architecture'. On top of that, I had randomly chosen a few well-known buildings. Some of these creations are among my favourites. All of them possess unique concepts and significance, outstanding in form, and have their respective aesthetical and historical values. (Clock-wise from top right): Roof of the Chrysler Building, The Louvre Museum, Petronas Twin Towers (Malaysia Boleh! But how come built by foreign architects ah?), CCTV International, Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Sydney Opera House, Church of Light, Eifel Tower (centre). |
